Reading and Spelling

Please encourage your child to read every day and bring their book bag to school every day. The children are able to change their book when the record book has been signed three times by an adult at home.

Spellings will be sent home each week for your child to learn and they will be tested on the words at the end of the week.

This year is a very important time for the children in year 2 as they prepare for their SATs tests. Please ensure that your child continues to read and learn spellings on a daily basis. They need to be able to write and spell all of the words from the year 2 common exception word list in order to pass their English SATs test (they have been glued in at the back of the yellow home reading record book). Please work on this list regularly as they will forget them.

Please keep reading each night and learning spellings.

Mrs. Forber will teach the class on Monday and Tuesday.

Mrs. Wild will teach the class on Thursday and Friday.

Both teachers will be in school on Wednesdays.

Mrs. Iddon will be working with groups of children each day and is our main teaching assistant.
